Garage epoxy questions, answered

Straight answers about 100% solids epoxy, polyaspartic topcoats, prep, timing, colors and warranty, from a family that has been in flooring for 22 years.

Questions and answers

What does "100% solids" mean, and why does it matter?

It means everything we apply stays on your floor. Other companies use blends from 80/20 to 70/30: with a 70/30 blend, 30% of what goes down evaporates as it cures, leaving a shallower, less resistant floor. Our 100% solids formula cures thick, durable and resistant for life, which is why we can back it with a lifetime wear warranty.

How long does a garage floor take?

The average turnaround from start to finish is 2 to 3 days. Our products are engineered to be applied and cured to the thickest standards in the industry so you can get back to using your garage or patio as soon as possible.

Do you grind the concrete or acid etch it?

We mechanically grind every floor. Cutting corners on preparation is a common cause of peeling, chipping and premature failure, so we never use acid-wash shortcuts. When the slab needs it, we add moisture mitigation before coating.

What warranty comes with the floor?

Every system we install is backed by our limited lifetime warranty on the products we use, including our best-in-class military-grade epoxy, and a lifetime wear warranty on the coating. Ask us for the written terms when you get your quote.

What is the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?

Our floors use both. A 100% solids epoxy base coat gives the thickness and bond; a clear polyaspartic topcoat seals it with extreme durability and excellent UV resistance, so it resists stains, chemicals, hot tire pickup and yellowing.

Which coating systems do you install?

Flaked epoxy, polyaspartic, self-leveling epoxy, quartz-filled epoxy, anti-static (ESD) epoxy and clear topcoats, for residential garages, workshops, showrooms, commercial facilities and high-traffic environments. See our products for details on each.

Can I choose my own colors?

Yes. Start with one of our epoxy base colors, then pick a flake blend. We have hundreds of options, including the flake, quartz, mica and glitter catalogs on our products page. Use the color chooser to send us your pick with your quote request.

Is a flake floor slippery?

A flake floor is slightly textured to the touch, which creates friction and resistance against slips and falls. Quartz-filled epoxy is another slip-resistant option.

Will the floor yellow in the sun or peel under hot tires?

It is built not to. The polyaspartic topcoat resists UV yellowing and hot tire pickup, and mechanically ground prep is what keeps the coating bonded instead of peeling.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Every floor is installed by our own professional installation teams, never subcontractors.

Where do you work?

We are based in Eagle and serve Meridian, Boise, Star, Middleton, Hidden Springs, Donnelly, McCall and the Treasure Valley. See our Eagle, Meridian and Boise pages.

Do you also seal outdoor concrete?

Yes. Our penetrating concrete sealer protects driveways, patios, porches, sidewalks, pool decks and garage floors from water, de-icing salts and freeze-thaw damage, with a service life of up to 22 years under normal conditions. It can even be applied to damp concrete. See concrete sealing.

What is anti-static (ESD) flooring and who needs it?

Anti-static epoxy contains a conductive material that carries static electricity to ground and dissipates any potential discharge. It is used in electronics manufacturing, healthcare buildings and areas at risk for combustible dust buildup.

How it works

From bare concrete to finished floor

The real process, no shortcuts. The average turnaround from start to finish is 2 to 3 days.

  1. Free estimate

Book online or call. We look at your garage, shop or commercial space, recommend the right system and give you an honest, no-hassle quote.

  2. Mechanical grinding

We grind the concrete mechanically, never an acid-wash shortcut, and mitigate moisture when needed. Prep is what keeps a floor from peeling.

  3. 100% solids base coat

A 100% solids epoxy base coat goes down in your color. Nothing evaporates, so the full thickness we apply stays on your floor.

  4. Flake & topcoat

Your flake, quartz or mica blend is broadcast into the base, then sealed with a clear polyaspartic topcoat for UV, chemical and abrasion resistance.

  5. Cure, then move back in

The average turnaround from start to finish is 2 to 3 days. We'll tell you when you can walk on it and when you can park on it.
